I am fixated on this shade. Love love love it, but its (are you sitting...) $2400! Eek. So I am wondering if there is a way to DYI this shade... Might put that on my list... I havent made a ceiling pendent before ! Any suggestions? #dyi #creative

ReplyDeleteget a cheap replacement drum style lamp shade from either goodwill or a garage sale.
A hot glue gun. Glass stones from a craft store.and edging material (also from store or from some cool vintage store where you can rip the edging off an old ornate robe or something. And then finish the areas in between the stones with silver 3D paint. they come in little squeeze bottles, also from craft stores.
I wonder if it might be better to paint the silver stuff on the lamp shade first, before gluing the stones.

It is very beautiful, such a shame that so many items we would like are so expensive.
